Yes, you can pay using cash. All forecourts are fitted with at least one payment terminal that will accept cash. Please note however, payment terminals can only give a credit note in lieu of change. If customers are using cash, we suggest theyuse exact notes where possible.
Credit notes can be used to pay for petrol and for diesel and they do not expire.
Yes, you can pay using all major bank cards. Its important to point out that you’ll be asked to select an amount before you fill up your vehicle. This is a requirement by the banks to ensure enough funds are available in your account to complete the transaction.
If you fill up by less than the amount you selected, you’ll only be charged the amount you filled up by. There may however be a time lag between when the bank places a temporary pre-authorization lien on your account and after you fill up. Most banks release the lien within minutes, but we have had situations wherebanks are taking a few days to release the holds. It is important to point out however customers are only ever charged for what they fill up by.
Absolutely not. Across all Tesco Fuel forecourts staff who worked in the kiosks have moved to new roles in store.
And while Certa is fully unmanned, we still have a big team of people working in the background. We employ over 40 people in Drogheda who manage the Certa operation and Certas Retail Europe. We have care taking staff assigned to every site who visit the sites daily to ensure equipment is cleaned and fully sanitized, supplies are replenished, and bins are emptied. In addition, we have a 24/7 remote monitoring team on hand for customers should they need help or get intodifficulties. Certa is owned by DCC, an Irish company that employs over 13,000 across its divisions.
Despite the unmanned nature of our operation we have nominated care takers on every site, carrying out routine hygiene checks each day at critical customer touchpoints -payment terminals, pumps, nozzles, air & services, car washes etc.
All sites are equipped with gloves for customers convenience and we have hand sanitizers fitted on every site so customers can wash before and after filling up.
We also have the added benefit of our 24/7 remote monitoring team who are continuously watching our forecourt operations to ensure safety and hygiene standards are adhered to at all time.
The health and safety of our customers remains our highest priority.

All forecourts are open 24/7, 365 days a year.
We’re unmanned, so the savings we make we pass on to our customers. We endeavour to always deliver the best value by continuously monitoring prices, so you don’t have to.
We accept cash, and all major credit and debit card.
If you are a Tesco Clubcard customer, you can scan your Clubcard when filling up to earn points. That means you both save on price and earn Clubcard points!
Unfortunately, Clubcard points cannot be earned when customers pay via a Fuel card. Only bank cards and cash enable customers to earn points.
As well as fuel, many of our forecourts are equipped with Jetwash, Car Wash, Air & Vac to keep your car clean and on the move.
